Vehicles in German Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police stated they were notified by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish liquid

Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Officers then discovered many other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police say initial examinations suggest the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; investigators are currently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they stated.

City officials announced they were working "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the public for information.

A high-ranking representative said the incident rendered him without words and required to be resolved promptly.

"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the death of nine victims by a shooter targeting residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
